Pros: Good perimeter D for a big man, Great confidence and strength on offensive rebounding, good passing in the post, Good speed attacking rim for size. Good P&R roll. Good vert. Can backdown defenders with agility.

Cons: Could work on FT form and consistency. Questions about how skills will hold up against NBA bigs. Can get lost when other team masses well.

Range: 20's-40's Age: Young guy Aura: 3/10 Pain Can Board Magnet

Notes: Just worried about upside and translation against harder comp.

Pro Comparison: Kevin Love

  • Feel For the Game

  • Rebounding

++Strengths:++

  1. Strong post-playmaker with the ability to handle double teams and locate shooters or cutters

  2. Beautiful post scorer who moves with purpose and loves to use either hand to hit easy hook shots over defenders

  3. Fundamental screener who rolls well and has amazing hands

  4. Primarily finishes through contact with his great touch

  5. Elite rebounder on both ends

  6. High-effort defender with the ability to play in different schemes and switch on screens

++Weaknesses:++

  1. Below average free throw shooter and rough from 3

  2. At this point his shooting potential is hypothetical, but someone with his touch has to be able to develop a shot right?

  3. More of a positional defender than a shot blocker

  4. Solid defensively on the perimeter but not a stopper/elite

  5. Gets overpowered by stronger players in the post which raises questions about his ability to play center

Almansa was thought of as one of the best players in this class before the season and instead has been just very meh. The playmaking potential of the DHO's and the short roll still make him very interesting (he still has all the tools to be a top 5 guy in this class), but I just can't help but feel like I needed to see more post scoring, taking slower defenders off the bounce, and being aggressive off of rebounds.

Undersized Switchable big.

Rim running big. A lot of Screen and roll. Moves his feet exceptionally well for a big. Seems to be able to switch out onto perimeter players and hold his own. I suspect NBA level guards would cause him problems. Good hands.

Player Comps: idk

Izan is a player that you watch and immediately notice his good touch in the paint. His size and strength make him good posting up, and able to finish around the rim well. Is a solid interior defender but struggles to switch onto guards and defend the perimeter.

Big time rebounder and will need to improve his catch and shoot 3 ball to make it.

Pros: I think he's pretty overrated. Long, athletic, good on boards, solid shot-blocker. Cons: Shooting needs work, as does passing, has potential to be a great floor-stretcher but isn't one yet, not a great motor. Ceiling: Roleplayer Floor: Shanghai Sharks
