One of the most underrated prospects in the draft. Bit of a late bloomer that can really defend on and off the ball. Came into his shot this season, elite off the ball, and coming off screens, pulls up on a dime no problem. Seems very easy to play with. My pick to be this years Jaylen Wells

Comp: Grant Williams/Josh Green/Nicolas Batum

  • not a super crafty ball handler, but uses his body really well to protect the basketball especially on drives

  • really aggressive scorer on the fast break; likes to use his body there

  • elite body control and balance for someone at 6’8”

  • crafty finisher at the rim from various angles

  • great midrange shooter specifically at elbows; gets to the step back/fade at a high clip

  • not the strongest and not very athletic at all, may struggle against NBA-level physicality

  • great three point shooter—prefers his looks in ball screen actions off the bounce/catch-n-shoot

  • efficient; rarely forces bad looks

  • can’t self-create

  • not the quickest feet, but has great physicality, hands, and reaction time making him a great perimiter defender right away

  • can be prone to gambling on passing lanes too much

My take: When watching Sorber, Peavy pops as a guy who makes good plays and can score and pass it well and is a plus defender. He progressed every year and this year even shot the three decently although his FT percentage shows his jumper is still a work in progress. He has NBA size and athleticism so like many prospects, the jumper is going to be the swing skill. He has good creation for his size and I think could be a solid contributor.

Peavy is another older guy who was just very good at basketball. Super efficient shooting from three has finally propelled him into draft conversations. He applies so much pressure as a defender and moves well, while still being opportunistic to convert steals. His on ball scoring showed potential too.

Should be solid on defense. I think the offensive role is a bit of a mystery if his shot regresses, and I have a feeling it will. But he's big and strong, so he might have some value regardless.
