Trey Murphy III is the prototype 3 and D player every team wants. He can defend almost anyone and can knock down threes at a high clip. He reminds me a bit of Mikal Bridges or even Robert Covington.
Virginia
Excellent physical profile for an NBA combo forward at 6-9, 206 pounds with a 7-0 wingspan and 8-9.5 standing reach. Measurements resemble Darius Bazley, Cam Reddish and Jayson Tatum. Late bloomer who graduated high school at around 6-5. On a different trajectory than your typical 21-year-old college junior. Fluid athlete who can play above the rim in space. Has the tools to defend wings and guards alike as he continues to fill out physically.
Great shooter with his feet set, but not overly dynamic on the move at this stage. Made just 4-of-12 pull-up jumpers last season (10-of-30 as a sophomore). Generated 1.5 points per possession on 70 "unguarded" catch-and-shoot jump shots last season as opposed to just 0.93 points per possession on 44 'guarded' attempts. Showed more versatility off the dribble at Rice than Virginia.
