Why I don't think Giannis should or would get traded.

To get this out of the way Giannis would sign an extension if he isn't going to get traded he loves Milwaukee nevermind the 255 milion other reasons for him to sign that extension.

Now the basis is: would the Giannis package make the Bucks better than a play-in in the next 5 years?

And the thing is not only in most scenarios the answer would be no, but in most scenarios the Bucks would be one of the worst teams in the league which puts them in risk of being in the relegation zone, which doesn't matter because they don't even have their picks, and that's just another problem, it's hard to properly rebuild because of the new lottery system and it's almost impossible without owning your picks.

What are the Bucks supposed to do with Tyler Herro and a few firsts? Well they can't win because without Giannis we suck, and they can't be bad because they don't own their picks.

So that just leaves trading Giannis for an established young player but nobody would trade their future of their team to win now in todays NBA.

What the Bucks need to do is to not trade control of any of their firsts past 2031 (I mean if it's lottery protected sure), make smart signings and be an alright play-in team for 5 years and then you can trade your best players at that point and start rebuilding.

If you are wondering I do think that the 11th seed running it back with an healthy Giannis and a proper coach would make them a play-in.

Look at the Suns- finished as the 11th seed as well, extended Dbook, traded KD for a young piece in Jalen Green and a great player in Dillon Brooks, changed coaching and became a good play-in team using a team that was viewed as a lost cause.

Maybe if the Bucks had a young core this would different but we have like 3 young players at best.

Anyway yeah Giannis is staying boohoo nothing ever happens and Shams is a fraud.
