Our pick from the wizards is projected to be an early/mid second rounder so below are my favorite options not in any order:
Ryan Kalkbringer: A center out of Crieghton who is a senior this season. He is top 5 in BPG for the NCAA and a very efficient scorer and good rebounder. He shows flashes of a decent jump shot and he could be our Lopez replacement. His main problem is similar to Lopez and that is speed. Ryan is pretty slow but other than that he is NBA ready.
Mohammed Faye: A 20 year old unheard of prospect from Senegal who basketball in Italy. He is an inhuman athlete standing at 6,10 with an insane 7,5 wingspan. At 225 pounds he is extremely mobile and quick. He’s a natural shot blocker and has really solid rebounding skills. He can guard the perimeter and works well through the PnR. He is very raw offensively but is averaging 14 PPG against grown men as a recently turned 20 year old so he has some offensive potential. The Jump shot is a big area that needs some work but I’m very high on this guy and he could be our next GIANNIS.
Nique Clifford: A senior guard/forwad for Colorado state whose game screams high level NBA role-player. He can facilitate, rebound, defend, and score all pretty well. He’s a jack of all trades who would be a great piece for the Bucks off the bench as a SF. Only problem is he will likely get drafted very early second round so it’s unlikely we could get him.
JT Toppin: Brother of NBA Obi Toppin is JT Toppin, a sophomore out of Texas Tech. He has a natural nack for rebounding while also being a solid defender. On the offensive end he’s good at driving to the rim and getting buckets inside the three point line. An area to improve is his 3 pt jump shot.
Maxime Raynuad: A center playing for the Stanford Cardinals who is a great scorer and amazing rebounder. His defense is solid and his all around game seems NBA ready. His jump shot is good and he doesn’t have many weaknesses. He doesn’t seem super athletic but he has a solid build.
Yaxel Lendeborg: A senior out of UAB who flashes elite rebounding and solid Interior scoring. His defense has also been amazing this year averaging almost 2 blocks and 2 steals per game! He could be a solid Lopez replacement.
Darrion Williams: A solid 3 and D Wing with an NBA frame. Not much else to say.
Alex Karaban: A Junior guard out of Yucon who has unmatched college experience with 2 NCAA championships under his belt. He’d project to be a solid role player in the NBA with defense being his main attribute.
Eric Dickson: The LEADING NCAA scorer with 23 PPG. Out of Vilinova this senior is an Elite scorer. He’s 6,8 265 pounds with an NBA frame. His main problem is that He’s slightly oversized for a SF but slightly undersized for a PF so that might be slightly problematic. However this guy is an ELITE shooter and scorer who can be Jordan Clarkson type off the bench.
PJ Haggerty: A sophomore put of Memphis who is also an elite scorer and fouls bater. At 6,3 195 lbs he is slightly undersized but his defense seems solid enough where he wouldn’t be a big Liability. He flashes high potential and would probably be projected a lot higher if he wasn’t a TO machine. Huge Boom or Bust potential but it could be a risk worth taking for the Bucks.
Ryan Nembhard: Brother of Andrew Nembhard, and a senior from Gonzaga is Ryan Nembhard. He leads the NCAA in passing with almost 10 APG!! He’s a solid three point shooter and an ok defender although definitely undersized. He flashes CP3 Walmart version. Bucks need a bench facilitator and this guy is just that.
Braden Smith: A solid Junior guard out of Purdue who is similar to Ryan Nembhard in that he is an Elite facilitator and solid shooter well also being undersized.
Adam Clark: A sophomore guard for Merrimack who is a solid scorer and ELITE at getting steals. He is top 5 for the NCAA in SPG. He flashes high potential but has one major problem. He is extremely small, standing at 5,10 155 lbs.
