Here’s the thing: there are rumors that the Bucks are interested in Ja Morant, a star who could help pull the Bucks out of the deep hole they’re in right now. So here’s a trade idea. I’ll start with the Nets part first.

NETS & BUCKS

For a possible trade that brings Ja Morant to the Bucks, Bobby Portis and Kyle Kuzma would be involved.

My idea is to send Bobby Portis to the Nets. He has solid value for contenders, and I think he would be interesting for Brooklyn. The Nets could probably flip him later and get some picks.

GTJ would be included mainly for salary matching, and he could maybe be moved for a 2nd-round pick.

Day’Ron Sharpe has been having a really good season coming off the bench and offers more on the defensive side than Bobby. He would be an excellent option to help replace Myles Turner in the rotation.

Ziaire Williams would be included mostly for salary purposes and also because he might not be very valuable to the Nets right now (at least in my opinion). He would be a nice bench piece for the Bucks.

As for the picks, I think a 1st-round pick for Sharpe is fair, but I’d like to hear your opinions on that.

This move would solve the Bucks’ forward need and also make the team bigger, which is something they clearly lack right now. In my opinion, it would be a big upgrade to the Bucks’ frontcourt.

Rotation

JA MORANT / KPJ AJ GREEN / GARY HARRIS (surprisingly good off the bench for me) ZIAIRE WILLIAMS or GG JACKSON / TAUREAN PRINCE (could go either way) GIANNIS / GG JACKSON TURNER / SHARPE

Looking to the future

If this ends up being a failure this season and Giannis gets traded in the offseason, the Bucks would still be in a decent position to restart. They’d have young, promising players, low salaries, and guys who still have something to prove, with a chance to earn good contracts in the future — like GG Jackson and Day’Ron Sharpe.

If Giannis stays (which I think is unlikely, but not impossible), the Bucks could draft a guard in the top 15. Names like Bennett Stirtz if he slides, or Dash Daniels (Dyson Daniels’ brother), a good defender, among others.
