Although I would trade Giannis and rebuild, if the rumours about the Bucks wanting to trade for help around Giannis, I'd much rather them go for someone like Lavine rather than Ja as he can play off-ball and is a much better shooter. The Bucks would give up Portis and Kuzma as well as Amir Coffey (expiring just to match). Coffey is barely a feature for the Bucks and is shooting horribly when he does. Losing Kuzma and Portis just for Lavine could be a risk due to their already bad bench unit, but if the Bucks are planning to add a true secondary scoring option I don't think they have a choice.
The clippers would off-load Bogdanovic and in return get Portis. Since the Clippers have been playing better it has been without Bogdanovic playing a role so he would be the obvious place the Clippers could look to upgrade. Portis would help add size and scoring. I know the Clippers would be giving up an expiring and they want to target FA, but Portis' contract would be their second contract on their books in the 2027-2028 season. The kings who don't want to be good anyway, would be getting a worse player on an expiring contract.
The kings would have the biggest question mark for this deal in my opinion. Lavine's value feels really low and they would free up cap space this season with this trade, however I wonder if they would want to demand something more from the Bucks depending on how desperate they are to get Giannis help. With where the Kings are and how they should be looking to rebuild, Kuzma's contract isn't disastrous for them and if he regains some form through playing regularly they could even get some return for him in the future.
