Bucks get finally get rid of Brook, Portis and Connaughton and get Donte, Finney-Smith and Collins in return.
-IMPORTANT: The picks are wrong, Bucks give the 2030 and 2031 first round picks to Minnesota. My bad, i messed up on that. Btw, if you think the Bucks are sending out to many picks, look what they have done with their recent picks from the past years. No development at all.
-Donte coming off the bench in Minnesota is not moving the needle for me imo, so they get rid of his contract and get more opportunity in the off Season + 2 Picks! Imagine the players they could get next to AE with 40-60 Mil in cap scape in the off season, because i think Julius Randle won't pick up his player option and is looking for a longer term deal.
-The Spurs barely play Collins, so they get rid of his contract for a Veteran center in Brook Lopez on a expiring deal (Wemby + The young Spurs get another veteran in the locker room) + a 2nd round pick. The Spurs also could get more picks by trading Brook Lopez away. Teams like the Pelicans and Warriors, would like to have a better center.
-The Lakers finally get rid of Gabe Vincent and Hood-Schifino. They wil only lose a first and second round pick to the Nets, to get Bobby Portis.
-Although the Nets probably would have expected a lot more for Finney-Smith, it's time to trade him. He turns 32 in may and his contract won't get better, so a first and second won't be a bad deal for the Nets.
-The Bucks will lose picks, but they are in a position where they have to take risks. The shooting and defending ability from DiVincenzo improves this roster so much. Getting a Versatile big in Zach Collins (A lighter, but a younger version of Brook with room to grow as he is 10 years younger than Brook!) could work in this bucks starting lineup. Although Milwaukee loved Bobby Portis, they get Finney-Smith in return. Finney-Smith compliments this roster so much more than Bobby Portis. The Bucks even get a young Jalen Hood-Schifino who has been struggling in the NBA so far, but with Milwaukee losing picks and having a old roster, a young player who hopefully can develop better in Milwaukee, wont hurt the future.
Keep in mind that the Bucks lack bench depth and defense, but with this trade and Khris Middleton coming back, they have Gary Trent Jr, Dorian Finney-Smith, Delon Wright and Taurean Prince coming off the bench. They get better production from the DiVicenzo trade and overall a much better defending team from the other trades.
The Bucks roster after this trade: PG: Lillard, SG: DiVincenzo, SF: Middleton, PF: Giannis, Center: Collins. Bench Depth: Finney-Smith, Gary Trent Jr, Taurean Prince, Delon Wright and the other young players. You now finally can close out games with Giannis at Center, because you have a great perimeter and post defensive player in Finney-Smith at PF coming off the bench.
Let me know what you think of this trade! Does this change things for the Bucks? How can these trades be improved or even more realistic. Let me know!
