Overall this is a deep squad with an amazing front court, shooting, and overall defense. The only weakness with this team could be a lack of facilitating. Otherwise you have 3 Elite defenders (Giannis, Turner, TM3) to lock down opposing star players. AJ Green and GTJ are slightly above average defenders too so there isn’t a weak link. Offensively pick and roll / Drive and Kick would probably be the pain form of offense with the shooters running motions to get open looks from Giannis or Trey (whoever’s driving). Having 4 elite three point shooters around Giannis along with some midrange level scoring makes this team have all three levels to threaten the other team. Teams will try to game plan around Giannis by building a wall but that just opens up shots for the 4 others in the SL or for Trey Murphy to get going as he faces less pressure with Giannis on his team. This team being Good or Elite hinges on Giannis and Trey being decent facilitators in the offense (especially Giannis). I do love Giannis’s passing ability and he’s always growing but he would have to take on way more passing responsibilities than he’s used too. Giannis would be expected to have insane numbers like (28 PPG, 9 APG, 12 RPG) for this team to be truly elite. The good thing is Giannis isn’t even that far off these numbers already. I think as a lead facilitator Giannis could average 8-9 assists pretty easy as he was around 7 last year even with Dame on the team. The bench here looks amazing as well. I’m super high on Rollins and I like Hawkins as well. Lots of young talent at guard for the bench. Sadiq Bey and Taurean Prince bring vet presence and shooting to the forward positions which is always a good thing to have off the bench. Bobby is also Bobby always a 6moy candidate. One weakness with the bench is defense. Rollins is a good defender, but Hawkins, Bey, Prince, and Bobby are all below average defenders. None of them are considered horrible defenders but they aren’t great. Having Sims as an extra center is great if we need better defense than Bobby. Anthony can also be put in for Hawkins if he’s having a bad defensive night. As for forwards Amir Coffey can be subbed in for Bey or Prince but he’s not much of a defender himself.
