The Chicago Bulls recently have been on fire. Led by their backcourt duo of Coby White and Josh Giddey, the Bulls have shown recently that they can be a real dark horse in this year's playoffs. Being in the weak Eastern Confrence, they can make a real playoff push and have momentum going into next season if it stays relatively similar. The Bulls have the 2nd best record in the last 10 games in the Eastern Confrence, only behind the Boston Celtics, but we know how good they are.
Josh Giddey has transformed recently for the Bulls. It seems like the Bulls have won the Caruso Giddey swap with the Thunder. On the 22nd of March this season, the Bulls blew out the Lakers on their own floor with a 31 point win. And guess who was the star, Josh Giddey. Only 2 steals away from making history with the 1st Quadruple Double in over 30 years. He had 15 points, 10 rebounds, 17 assists and 8 steals. An insane performance, the closest we've seen to a Quad Double in a while. And he's doing this more often then not recently. Against the Lakers again, the Bulls are down by 5 with 12 seconds left. And then it's 2. Josh Giddey steals the ball on the inbound and passes it out. White hits for 3 and the Bulls lead. Reaves hits a lay-up to lead by 1. But then, 3 seconds left, No Time-outs, Giddey pulls up from half-court....... And Sinks it! Now I'm not saying that Giddey is winning MVP or anything, but if he carries in this form to next season, if he somehow can, he can lead the Bulls to a potential top seed. Paired with his Tampa Brother, Coby White!
Along with Matas Buzelis and Coby White, the Bulls have a sort of big 3 if you can call it that. This young team has a real bright future in the NBA. So what does this mean for the Draft? The Bulls currently have the 11th best odds for the 1st pick in this year's draft. And the Bulls can get a great pick and still be in the Play-In. Even if they do get the 11th pick, there are so many players that can fit into this team. And if they get a top Pick, we'll there's Flagg, Harper, Ace and lots more. Cooper Flagg seems like the perfect fit, the successor to Michael Jordan, one of the most hyped up prospects in NBA History. Any team who gets him, will have a future HOFer on their team, if they get it right. The Bulls also have am experienced players on their line-up in Vucevic. If they want to a have a proper fight, they need more experience as there just isn't enough. All their players are young, but don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing, but for today and only the next few years, they won't be in their prime.
So the Bulls seem like a dark horse contender for the next few years in The NBA. And if they can get their line-up, trades and draft right, it seems almost inevitable that the Bulls will return to winning ways soon and get their first ring since MJ.
