I'm in night school and I'm bored ASF so I decided to cook up something probably not that realistic. I've seen how Giddey plays with Coby, and Kyrie would play that same role in a far better and capable style than Coby White. Mavericks also get the 15th pick guaranteed, which is likely to end up being a spot where some capable big men will be available in a loaded draft class. Chicago takes on Klay's two years, which won't be the worst thing in the world when considering Patrick Williams is still on this roster, while also getting a pick from the Mavericks which has a large chance of (around 30%) of being in the top five albeit with a protection on it just to maintain the Mavericks' hopes of landing one of the top three prospects. Chicago receives a big man in Daniel Gafford, and a guarantee of two top ten picks with one of them still having the chance to end up in the top three itself. Chicago in this situation looks to draft a high level playmaking guard to counter the loss of Giddey, and use its other pick to gain either shooting or defensive prowess depending on how the pick turns out. Chicago also gains a pick down the line that isn't likely to be highly valuable but still provides value as the team moves into a new era.
