CHI goes all in on the draft to end up with Darryn Peterson and Caleb Wilson. They send out Tre Jones, their #15 pick, a 2029 top 5 protected, and a pick swap down the line. The Bulls also give up Isaac Okoro and Jalen Smith to the Celtics who in turn send their 27th pick to Utah to sweeten their pot. Chicago uses their massive amount of money available to sign Jalen Duren to the max available contract which Detroit doesn't match. Leonard Miller is given an extension along with FA signings to build overall team depth after trading away key rotational players.
