The biggest question would be why would either of these teams do this trade? I think its simple. The Bulls give Patrick Williams, a notoriously bad contract in return for another notoriously bad contract in Klay Thompson. The Mavs get 2 future 2nd round picks which could get you an alright roleplayer and give up a bad contract. The only minus for the Mavs is the fact that they’re taking in 2 more years of Patrick Williams’ salary compared to Klays.
