Big changes in the East that see the Bulls add key pieces to be immediately competitive.
TRADES
Boston trades one of its stars (Brown) for three rotation players (Huerter, Collins, and Carter), 3 unprotected FRPs, and 2SRPs. This trade, obviously, allows Chicago to strengthen its roster, while the Celtics free up cap space, thus exempting themselves from the luxury tax, significantly increasing their draft capital while awaiting Tatum's return and freeing themselves from a contract that would have become truly burdensome in the coming years, despite Brown's skill (which no one questions).
Dallas trades Gafford, 1FRP and 1SRP and gets C.White's new contract. For Dallas, C.White's arrival would represent the final piece in completing a team that can effectively challenge for the title, so this significant, but not excessive, investment could really be worth it.
Indiana is trading Nembhard for Gafford, D.Terry, 1FRP and 2SRPs. Nembhard is obviously an important addition to the Pacers' roster, but it's hard to turn down a significant offer like this; Gafford would be the perfect replacement for M.Turner, given his departure, D.Terry would represent another young player with potential minutes until Halibarton returns, and 3picks to boost your draft capital in this situation are excellent.
The Bulls would invest part of their draft capital and the painful trade of C.White to finance the trades for these two high-level players, in addition to this they signed Brogdon in free agency and extended Ayo's contract; after these moves, the Bulls' roster is as follows:
Guards: Giddey, Nembhard, Brogdon, Ayo, T.Jones and Yuki.
Forwards: Brown, Buzelis, Okoro, Essengue, P.Williams and Phillips.
Centers: Vucevic, J.Smith and Olbrich.
Starting lineup: Giddey - Nembhard - Brown - Buzelis - Vucevic.
