With bulls entering a rebuild finally, in which we have about 60 mil in cap space.
based on reports of trades heres something ive come up with
Bulls get: jimmy butler ja morant the 3rd pick and the warriors 2027 first round pick
warriors get jalen smith
grizzlys rob dillingham patrick williams isacc okoro 4th pick
heres why for each team
warriors
with curry very close to retirement the warriors have 2 choices, try and push one last time or start the rebuild. Because steve kerr is staying as head coach im assuming that they will try one last time. As a result jimmy butler whos contract is 54 mil limits there chances with him out with an torn acl will miss up till december to january, even thou there would still be half the season left who knows if he can play like he used to. Because of this i feel they might salary dump his contract in order to sign a free agent/agents. only really having to give up a first round pick next year if their planning on competing the pick shouldn't be to valuable.
grizzlys
With the grizzlys also entering a rebuild and getting luck in the draft lottery its gonna be intersting to see if they do or dont trade ja. However in this scenario i say they will. based on reports that they tried at the deadline, it may seem like no one wants ja so in this senario the grizzlys trade him to chicargo by trading down in the draft during the proccess.
this may seem wild to think about it trading down just to get rid of ja but if he has no value on trade ,arket it might be the only way to do so. Its not an unrealistic senario either as with this draft the grizzlys would be happy with anyone that falls to pick 4, play they can try and develop rob dillingham who was the 9th pick 2 years ago and still have potential.
bulls
if the bulls somehow do this it would be a great start for their new rebuild. to get the 3rd overall pick by simply taking on ja contract would be a great move, on both sides, at 3 they now get to pick between boozer or wilson rather then getting stuck with whoever is left, plus the chance peterson is still available could be amazing. jimmy butler can be a great mentor to our young squad and with him possibly returning before the deadline could be someone we flip for more assests, if not however his is an expiring contract so its not the end of the world if he stays as he can just leave in the off season. Getting ja would be an intersting fit but maybe we could flip him at the deadline as well after trying to raise his value.
