All Hail King James

SUCCESS

In an attempt to (selfishly) create the best team around Lebron in Cleveland, I put this together. Cle gets a great 3-D wing. New Orleans starts the full rebuild. San Antonio gets off Fox and gets a running mate for Wemby in Zion.

Cleveland starts Harden, Mitchell, Murphy, James, and Mobley. I think getting a 3-D wing alongside Harden's and Lebron's play making raises the ceiling of this team. Moving on from Allen gives Mobley the chance to slide to the 5 and gives him less ball handling/scoring responsibility with the addition of Lebron. This move certainly makes their defense worse, but not by much. Mobley is a DPOY candidate, Murphy is a top tier wing defender, Mitchell is serviceable, Harden and Lebron are admittedly bad but can hold their own on occasional possessions.

New Orleans goes full rebuild/tank. No surprise they want to move Murphy. I think this is a relatively fair deal, getting back a starting veteran center to mentor Messi and 2 first round picks. I know the report is 3 firsts, but I think his value is closer to 2 and a solid player after the Kawhi and Jaylen deals. They also finally get off the Zion saga and get a savy veteran guard plus 2 firsts and 2 seconds. You could debate the pick haul could be more, and it certainly could be, but Zion's injury history hurts his value. Fox's contract is a hard one to eat, but the Pels need vets and need the picks worse.

San Antonio adds to its weaponry. I don't buy into the whole "Fox and Harper can't coexist" narrative, however, I think this is a trade that benefits the Spurs. Moving Fox opens up minutes for Harper and Castle to shine. Getting Zion gives them someone to help shoulder some of the scoring weight, as well as gives them someone to camp in the dunker spot. Wemby likes to float towards the arc, and I think putting Zion in the Harrison Barnes role except moving him to the block/paint area makes this team great. The first rounders are nothing to SA, they'll be 27-30 with this young core.

As a non-closeted Cavs fan, I love this. As a closeted Spurs fan, I love this. As a I-don't-give-a-fuck Pels fan, I don't give a fuck, but find this is to be relatively close to fair.
