The cavs basically had the offense staggered in playoffs where 2 big lineup wasn't played especially against Pacers bc there 5 out Offense & Myles Turner as a stretch 5.

Also cle over 2nd Apron. JA 20mil yr this year kicks to 30mil a year next year.

This kid Dalton Knecht is a flat-out bucket who can jump out the gym. He got prob a 49in vertical & is a flame thrower from 3.

The 2031 1st from LA loses its value bc Luka deal. Maybe Cle can even get a 2030 swap incl.

But Cle moves JA bc Mobley ready to play the 5 finally and Cle got the dream stretch 4 in DeAndre Hunter.

Plus Dean Wade off bench is a solid Defender & all cle needs to do after moving JA...

This deal gets Cle closer & easier to get under that 2nd Apron, while making them better.

Upside of Reaves & Knecht could be cornerstones for the franchise going forward along w Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley...

After securing & implementation of Austin Reaves into the cavs backcourt, DG will become expendable.

Ive seen enough in playoffs the past few years. Forget about the toe injury. DG can't guard his position & on switches... 4 get about it..

Hes too small. Still got nightmares of Celtics famously mocking him w too small gestures..

Then the pacers relentlessly attacked him , & he crumbled mentally. He would then get in early foul trouble & basically lose all confidence.

And in playoffs DG 3pt shooting in big pressure playoff gms. Hes been a no show. Door mat on defense & 3 pt shooting is abysmal. Talking -30 gms in + -.

It's why Cavs played so much zone vs Pacers. DG couldn't get a stop. Now ppl will say he was hurt. He had a bruised toe & it was painful.

Austin Reaves with Donovan Mitchell backcourt will change that bc AR can handle ball & facilitate. Better than ty jerome.

DG will get another go to put muscle on & show he can bulk up & defend his position. It's more mentally being tough. Bc he falls apart when he gets exploited. Not mentally tough. Not physically tough.

DG often gets compared to steph but idk why. Hes nothing like steph who is all world on & off ball.

DG has not improved at all off ball. Hope is Kenny could get him better off ball w motion & movement but DG dont have stamina & gas tank steph has.

Steph also did struggle first few years in playoffs on defense... but he would offset that w his 3 pt shooting in playoffs.

Im his 3rd playoffs, steph won the title & put it altogether. The def. The 3 pt shooting. The playoffs making. Off the ball relocation..

DG just had his 3rd playoffs. And in every must win pressure gm w legit bright lights he has been abysmal. He can't make 3s at all & he's like minus 30.

Stats compared to steph are telling. Hes not steph.

If ppl think he was gonna take that step, maybe toe injury did hold him back in year 3, but that aint gonna change the Defense inefficiency. Again its abysmal.

Austin Reaves a 6 5 guard can hold his own & If cavs can make this move first, they can give DG 1x more year to put it together. If not they need to move him for a Defensive PG.

Alot of ppl say Jalen Suggs.

If im Cle , I want Suggs, Anthony Black a huge 6 7 pg who's 20, and 1x of their 1sts in upcoming draft.

Cle could then use that 1st to get a Big to backup Mobley or pkg it together to go get a legit proven 5.
