Tons of rumors linking Ben to Cleveland. The rumored package over the summer mentioned Garland or Sexton with Love plus unprotected picks. If talks have re-started, I could see it looking something like this.

Rubio's knee injury is a huge blow and something that is going to lead to an inflection point this year. Before the knee injury, I could have seen us standing pat, re-signing Collin to a prove it 3 year deal with the 3rd year as a player option, and running it back with this core next year.

Without a worthy replacement for Rubio, I could see Cleveland falling out of the play in game in the east. Considering the state of the east this year and the Hawks & Raptors only 5 games back in the 11th & 12th spot, if playoffs are the goal, it's time to add.

Rubio's expiring contract added to Sexton and Windler finally get us in the salary range of Simmons, but Philly isn't taking that and picks, they need an all star to push them forward and sell this to their fans. In addition, the Harris deal is looking like the albatross many were concerned it would be.

That's where Indy comes in. They have expressed a desire to move Levert and one of Sabonis or Turner for rebuilding assets. In this case, they're able to add 4 top 40 picks in next years draft plus an unprotected Cleveland pick in 2024. They'll control Sexton's rights, Harris can provide spacing and serves as an immediate replacement for Sabonis, and they can keep tabs on Rubio's recovery if he makes sense as a bench guard for him next year.

The Cavs end up with an 8 man rotation of Garland, Simmons, Lauri, Mobley, Allen, Okoro, Love, and Osman. Which both offensively and defensively could challenge to be a top 4 unit in the East and push the Cavs into title consideration this year or next year.

Philly gets the all star they promised back for Simmons, gets out from Harris's contract, moves forward with Maxey as their PG of the future with the ability to flank him with Levert at times while adding a boatload of shooting around Emblid to maximize his chances this year. Morey is all too happy to throw in his 22 1st to help balance out his balance sheet and improve his flexibility for 2022 and beyond.
