Giannis Trade

SUCCESS

I feel like this would be a baseline Giannis/Murphy trade, if it does actually end up happening.

Celtics POV: Taking the risk for Giannis also has massive upside, while Murphy is the definition of what the Knicks have going on in elite scoring and defensive role players, potentially star if you want to call him that. Call this a steal or whatever, which it would likely be, you do have to also factor in the amount of touches these guys get. Not a bad thing per se. I could also see Scheierman or Hugo being thrown in, unfortunately.

Pelicans would take full advantage of Jaylen Brown. I could certainly see Jaylen going for more picks but the Pelicans also heavily value Murphy. I wouldn’t be mad if I was New Orleans because superstars are REALLY hard to come around in smaller markets. Fears, Jaylen, Herb Jones, Zion, Queen would be an interesting lineup.

The bucks in this trade I feel would most likely decline. Jordan Poole is useless but I think the Bucks really just care about young players and draft picks. As of now, they don’t have their own 2029 pick. That’s why I could see DWhite being sent there in another separate trade to pair him with Holiday. Problem is that Portland may not take that. They already have Holiday, Sharpe, Dame, and Scoot. If they go all out, trading sharpe and Jerami Grant for white and a third team, like getting a better 3-4 to match with Avdija could work wonders. Imagine White, Holiday, Dame, Scoot/Sharpe, Deni, [insert solid wing], Camara, and Clingan. That may not win a championship, but you could fight with that lineup.

Blazers continued: if they REALLY want JB, they could give the bucks those coveted young stars. Clingan and Deni will be untouchable probably, but the bucks would probably love having Scoot, Sharpe, Camara, etc. from that young core. Not to mention, even just taking out the pelicans from this trade, they could get that pick back and fully rebuild.
