The Celtics draft Amari Allen with the 2026 frp

This Celtics’ 2026 offseason completely reshapes the roster around a clearer championship identity while still staying realistic financially under the new CBA restrictions. Adding Giannis Antetokounmpo gives Boston arguably the best frontcourt player in basketball and creates a terrifying duo alongside Jayson Tatum. Instead of relying on overlapping wing creators, the roster becomes more balanced with elite transition pressure, improved rim attacks, stronger help defense, and better lineup versatility.

The additions of Collin Sexton, Jalen Smith, and Gary Payton II specifically address Boston’s biggest weaknesses from previous years. Sexton gives the team a needed secondary downhill creator and shot generator, Smith provides spacing at center next to Giannis, and GP2 strengthens the perimeter defense against fast playoff offenses like the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder. Keeping Sam Hauser also preserves critical movement shooting and spacing around Giannis.

Most importantly, the roster now has defined roles and a modern playoff structure. Boston would have elite star power, multiple defensive looks, improved athleticism, and enough spacing to maximize both Tatum and Giannis. While the team still has some matchup questions at center and halfcourt creation, this offseason would realistically position the Celtics as one of the top championship favorites entering the 2026–27 season.

Final Lineup:

Starters: PG - Derrick White SG - Collin Sexton SF - Jayson Tatum PF - Giannis C - Jalen Smith Bench: PG - Payton Pritchard SG - Gary Payton II SF - Sam Hauser PF - Jordan Walsh C - Neemias Queta Reserves: Baylor Schierman, Amari Allen, Thanasis, Amari Williams.
