Spurs wouldn't do this trade only because it rushes their rebuild; turns their window to now. But if they want to compete now, this is the lineup that can compete with the Thunder. Moving Vassell's over inflated contract for a player in Reaves who is paid appropriately is a good move for them.
Celtics only move Brown if the value is close to equal. In trading away a superstar, you look for a young player who is showing great potential and multiple future first rounders plus expiring contracts. Spurs offer meets these qualifications, doesn't gut them, and still has them winning this trade.
