Why the Celtics do this
It’s basically a know fact that the Celtics aren’t looking to keep Anfernee Simons in the long term and they desperately need a big, instead of just going basic and grabbing one guy why not go for 2, they start fixing the jam at the wing, with Tatum and Brown already there there is no reason to get a third guy, so they trade Hugo and get another big
Why the Clippers do this
Basically the same reasoning as the Celtics and Anfernee Simons, Collins is a guy who the Clippers are expected to trade soon and they could use guard help with Beal injured and Bogdan basically being washed, CP3 and Harden sounds good, 5 years ago, Chris Paul is washed too and Harden is the last hope in the backcourt, they have a solid big room with Zubac and DJJ leading the way
Why the Nets do this
They already have their star big in Claxton and have their power forward in MPJ or Dayron Sharpe, they need a wing assuming they have Egor and Cam Thomas as the 1 and 2 and Hugo can play the 3, by doing this they allow themselves to actually develop a guy they need and possible have a solid all around rotation instead of having that missing piece
