Trade 1: Blazers Get Paul George
Blazers Receive:
Paul George
This small market team refuses to rebuild, and they may have good reason to. Expect Portland to forge ahead as always. George will space the floor for him, create shots for himself when it’s his turn, and cover for the small guard on defense. He’s the ideal co-star for Lillard.

Clippers Receive:
Anfernee Simons
Shaedon Sharpe
Two First-Round Picks
With this deal, the Clippers give themselves options. They could trade Leonard in a separate transaction and launch a wholesale rebuild. On the other hand, they could keep Simons, and try to flip Sharpe and their new first-round picks to a rebuilding team for another major win-now piece. After all, Simons is a quality shot-creating guard. If this is more of a retooling process, the Clippers could build a deeper, more well-rounded squad.

Trade 2: Grizzlies Land Kawhi Leonard
Grizzlies Receive:
Kawhi Leonard
If the Grizzlies were squeamish about this trade, that would be understandable. At the same time, fortune has a way of favoring the brave. Let’s talk about what Leonard is. When healthy, he’s arguably the best two-way player in basketball. Leonard is a 3-and-D wing who can create shots for himself from all 3 levels. This is a legitimate superstar. Adding him could push the Grizzlies over the top. Parting with Bane stings, but if Leonard can get right for one season, the Grizzlies could walk away with an NBA championship.

Clippers Receive:
Tyus Jones
Luke Kennard
Desmond Bane
Jake LaRavia
Two First-Round Picks
This package is highlighted by Desmond Bane. The Clippers are getting a young star in return for Leonard. They’re also getting a strong backup point guard in Jones. Throw in a reunion with Luke Kennard and a pair of first-round picks, and this is a good return if the Clippers feel forced to move Leonard.
