IDK how I feel about this. I just thought, I bet Philly would be interested in doing a Kawhi-PG swap so we can get our 28 and 29 first-rounders back. Obviously, I do not want Paul George back in LA, and his contract is egregious. Despite that, the front office has finally shown a commitment to building a better future. I think this would be a realistic deal if Philly throws in several extra picks, including their 30 and 32 FRP, with some protections. I would be much more interested in this trade if they still had McCain to offer, but I think Edwards has been underutilized. Maybe this becomes better if they add Grimes as well, but he is a free agent this offseason. This trade solidifies Philly as an Eastern contender and gives the Clippers a far brighter future. I think Kawhi is very old and will regress soon, but the massive pick package is just as much about long-term cap relief and the stark difference between Kawhi's and PG's production levels. I know OKC still controls our 27th pick, but I feel like this deal would really give us our future back.
Let me know what y'all think? Is this package still not worth bringing back Paul George, a player who very publicly trash-talked the Clippers when he left, not even two years ago?
