The bot problem has been a thing for months but it has really escalated recently and we are hitting a high in bots on Fanspo. We thought we had a slight fix when Fijan got mod but he got it snatched after he suspended some of the bots. I’m not gonna say who did it but I think most of us know who it is. Fijan made some progress but not nearly enough to fix the bot problem.

There are two possible solutions to fixing the bot problem. Option one is the easy one, just give up and let them ruin Fanspo, which will not be happening. Or option two, the person who took Fijan’s mod away needs to man up and give it back. I know it’s a loss of pride and all but Fijan was doing something about. And even if Fijan gets it back we don’t know if we have enough active mods to take out all of the bots which is why I suggest we get more active moderators, my recommendations would be Surge and Corey, and of course Fijan since he needs it back.

The only good thing about the bots is that they like posts and give out free GM score. Even then it doesn’t feel fair since it’s not earned by getting real people to like your post. In my most recent trade I got 13 likes, 10 of them were from bots. Getting 8-13 likes on a post by real people used to seem like it was a great post, now getting 15 doesn’t even seem good since at least 5 will be from bots. I love getting free GM score, I think most people do, it’s just not fair that there are people out there making high quality trades who don’t get the push since the bots are only liking certain trades, even if they suck.

All we need to do is give Fijan back the mod status, maybe get a couple more general mods, and get rid of the bots. The general mod who took Fijan’s mod can either own up or quietly give back the mod. We can’t fix the problem with 1 person.

Little edit but most of the front page has at least 10 likes from bots and a recent bot post was liked by a different bot, they are helping eachother 😭😭😭
