Winners and Losers of 2024 Draft

WINNERS:

Blazers:

Just for how they traded for Deni Avdija on draft night to me is crazy enough, incredible value for such a promising player, also fits their positional need too. As for their draft pick, to pick Clingan at 7, its absolutely incredible value. Move one of Ayton and Rob Will and let Clingan play, he fits in well to this young core

Jazz:

Jazz 1st pick at 10th going for Cody Williams isnt good for me, especially when Nikola Topic is still there, it was actually a horrible pick. But, what they did with their next 2 picks is absolutely amazing to me

Isaiah Collier, very high ceiling with great physical tools. Kyle Filipowski, very skilled big who fell so so much. Jazz tho seems like the perfect team for him, just seems so much like a Jazz guy

I absolutely love these 2 picks, what a steal right there

Knicks:

Knicks just absolutely nailed every single one of their draft picks. Dadiet at 25, great great ceiling pick, to them its a low risk high reward guy as they dont need the wing depth alrdy

Kolek at 34… im a huge fan of Kolek and this addition just adds more to Knicks PG depth. Doesnt rlly matter that much but when Brunson is out now they will have another real PG to play

And the perfect Thibs guy, Kevin McCullar… never would i think they can still get him this fucking late in the 2nd round…

3 perfect picks, idk what more to say

Lakers:

Did what they need to do, drafting Bronny, but its their 1st round pick that makes them a huge winner

How the fuck is Knecht available at 17, literally a perfect fit for LA. These typa sharpshooting is exactly what Lakers can use especially beside LeBron. Expect him to be in the rotation from day 1

OKC:

Drafting Topic is great value, especially when they just traded Giddey, makes much sense to go for complete ceiling bet here

Suns:

Traded down which i find very smart with how few assets they have rn, then also went on to draft 2 prospects which i believe can contribute right away.

Ryan Dunn who alrdy is a great defender, and Iguodaro who im a huge fan of, could be TJD storyline all over again. With how thin the depth of Phoenix can be next year the addition of these will rlly help

Grizz:

I believe that drafting Edey at 9 was too big of a risk, never thought they will rlly pull the trigger. What a pick this is. Win now help, should replace the importance of Steven Adams for them quite well

Wolves:

Drafting Shannon at 27, who is got drafted there in both of my recent mock drafts

But its Dillingham at 8. I personally dont think its the best fit as Conley has proven that a playmaking PG is the best fit beside the core, but the ceiling Dillingham has, just for a frp and a future swap. Even if Dillingham isnt starting he will still be an elite 6th man in the future

Absolutely surprising when i 1st saw this but cant say i hate it

LOSERS:

Wizards:

Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George, absolute W picks, but its their trade, of getting rid of Deni Avdija, great player who is showing signs of progression, on great great contract

Suddenly out of nowhere they throw him away… it was absolutely shocking, absolute L of a trade tbh. And with the 14th pick getting Bub, i dont rlly like him as a prospect going this high as well, think hes rlly mot that promising to be good

Therefore if i have to choose a loser in this draft, it has to be DC

Raptors:

Just a small one here, I dont mind their frp of JaKobe Walter but at 31, how do you pass up in Filipowski??? I see Filip as like the dream pick for them with his spacing, which massively helps out Scottie’s room for development

Not saying the Johnathan Mogbo guy is horrible, just that Filipowski is too big of a talent to pass up on

Overall there isnt a huge loser in this draft, no one drafted absolutely
