The CAM WHITMORE problem and the undrafted

Cam Whitmore is the most overrated player imo in the draft, here's me raising out all my concerns on him

1st let's start from the offense, yes he is a guy with very high ceiling, but here's the concern. I think out of all the concern, his assist ratio just shows how big this problem is, it's one of the worst out of everyone, proving that he's not a gd team guy, if you give the ball to him you might not get the ball back, he just don't know how to make the right pass

Also, ppl say he hv tremendous ceiling but if ur becoming a star, as a scorer instead of other aspects of the game, 3 level scoring is needed, but Cam just lacks a game in the middle. He basically just know how to play in the perimeter, jab step, but when he decide to go into the paint, all he knows is either to use his speed to try blowby defenders, or use his big body to bump is way in, there's basically no prove that he have a good mid range game or a floater game which allows him to be effective in between of the 3pt line and the paint

A concern with his driving game is, he kinda love to play 'bully ball' too much, using his body advantage and powers his way into the paint, and i can say, if ur not Zion or Giannis, or maybe LeBron i guess, this is got working in the NBA. It looks dominant in NCAA as the level of competition is way lower, but in NBA u gonnna be real powerful to do that, and so far Cam is not showing that. I can tell that he will struggle if he continues to do this

There's report saying that he has performed bad in workouts for teams which caused him dropping slightly in boards for NBA teams, and i guess the struggle will mainly be coming from the shooting part, he might not even be a gd shooter when wide open

When i saw his stepback game or just his perimeter game with the 3pt, i just also think that he's quite slow with his shot and the stepbacks, also his handles is not too gd to make me trust that he can be a gd iso scorer, yes it looks like it's decent in NCAA, pls rmb that he's gonna play in NBA. With higher level defender who's world class at it, he will see even better defender which can cause him struggle a lotttttttt

Onto defense, i think the problem is not that big, he hv a strong body, can use his chest to absorb contact, athleticism, do know how to read passing lane, like overall it's decent, but in clips he just shows he's always indisipline. When there's guys driving into the paint, he used to go to help defense which caused a wide open man in the perimeter, which is not ideal for sho, it just breaks down the whole team defense with a wide open man in perimeter who should be able to shoot

I also do hv concern on how he fits with teams too, he can just play SF imo, i don't see him playing PF, as he will be undersized, and he's most effective guarding perimeter. For example teams like Utah who seems like the favourite to take him, im not sure how's the fit of him at SF and Lauri at PF, both aren't gd at guarding bigs, it rlly is hard for him to fit into any teams. I got him 18 to Heat as like an upside swing and a need for the perimeter shot creation game, that's kinda not a win-now move, as imagine the indisipline in Playoffs game, how bad will Heat die in the playoffs

So yea that's it for my Cam Whitmore concern, hopefully raise some new thoughts of him from me, and answers you why i rate him so low

The top 5 undrafted for me in my final mock draft:

Jaime Jaquez:

I rlly dk why he's invited to the green room, i got him undrafted for obvious reasons, yes he do hv experience with 4 or 5 years in UCLA, that's all the positive. He's a mid shooter, idk why everyone say he's a gd shooter. Also, he got no ceiling, he's older of a prospect. Defensively he's bad too, very slow. Don't be surprised if he's going undrafted, rlly can't see any reason of him touching the 1st round

Jordan Walsh:

Kinda shocking to me too, thought he will get drafted. Came into the year as like the best 3&D in the class but it's just not the case. The defending didn't stand out in college this season, and the shooting is just consistently bad, there's so much more better 3&D which caused him to drop here

Oscar Tshiebwe:

He should get drafted, if not he must be signed too. He's Andre Drummound basically, for some reason at 6'9 he's super dominant in rebounds, either in NCAA for few years or in Combine, he just finds a way. Unfortunately, to me a lot of teams are looking for size, rim protection, so they will pass on a 6'9, undersized C who might still rebound very decent, but then other aspects will be a concern

Ricky Council:

Do hv some ceiling too. Was a pretty gd scorer at Arkansas too, i can see quite an explosive game in him as a 6'6 SG. But in the 2nd round, if you want to be drafted the best way is to show you can play great offball as those are usually the most useful for NBA teams to use them, and Council isn't very effective offball

Oso Iguodaro:

He's also like TJD, good shot blocker, decent passer as a big, but that's basically it, his skillset is very limited imo, shown no shooting too

I think to get the highest chance to get draft, like Ricky Council, offball ability is very important frfr, that's why you see me hving a lot of 3&D wings with great efficiency drafted
