In 2019, when Kawhi signed to the Clippers, someone claimed that they illegally payed Kawhi an extra 28 million dollars for him to sign there. Last time something like this happened was with Joe Smith and the Timberwolves, he was immediately put into free agency and the wolves lost 5 first round picks. If this is true, the clippers already have very few picks and old veterans leading their team, they can be bad for the next 10+ years and Kawhi will be a free agent. Teams will now go after him but pretty much every team is over the salary cap except 1, the Brooklyn Nets. Other teams that are pretty low are the Jazz, Grizzlies, Pistons and Bucks. Will he sign their for more money or get less to money for a chance to get a ring???
