Introduction
Thank you all who have decided to join this mock. I am relatively new to fanspo, but having played a few mocks, I think this one will be very strategic + intense. This is the perfect mock for those who understand basketball from a managerial perspective. Overall success will not be solely decided on winning the championship but your progression through the entire season.
Please read through the instructions carefully as it will help you throughout you experience...
Gameplay
The mock is called "league of leagues". This is how it works:
The mock is league table and will be based on a points system. You will gain points by completing objectives. For example: One of your objectives is to win the playoffs. If you meet that objective then you will gain points. However, if you fail then you lose points.
The objectives you choose will determine what players you can attract or retain during the off-season. For example - one of your objectives is to tank but you have Lebron on your roster. It is unlikely he will sign with you during FA.
YOU CAN ONLY SET A MAX OF 10 OBJECTIVES PER SEASO
This is the grading of the points system:
Managerial Specific
Meeting objectives = 3pts per objective
Coach of the year = 5pts
Trade of the year = 5pts
Changing objectives = -2pts
Failing objectives = -3pts per objective
Player Specific
Player of the month = 1pt
3pt/dunk contest = 1pt
All-star appearance = 1pt
Winning MVP = 3pts
Winning DPOY = 2pts
Winning ROY = 2pt
1st all-nba = 3pts
2nd all-nba = 2pts
1st all-defense = 2pts
2nd all-defense = 1pt
Playoff Specific
Winning the championship = 5pts
Finals MVP = 3pts
Making the finals = 3pts
Making the playoffs = 2pts
Advancing each round = 1pt
The team with the most total points over the season is the winner. We will have a vote to see if everyone wants to continue for the next season - this is where the points you gained will come in handy as they will be used for signing free agents, upgrading player attributes, and changing team + location...
The mock will be operated on the most voted platform. We will be an auto fantasy draft which will add more unpredictability + strategy. Furthermore, to spice things up:
You have to give your objectives before the fantasy draft occurs
The contract length for all players is 1+1 PO for the first season. This allows player movement if objectives are not met.
Injury settings will be OFF
Simulation Schedule
The Mock will be simulated every weekend on weekly basis. This gives everyone enough time to do trades, review their strategies, and most importantly - HAVE A LIFE OUTSIDE FANSPO as this can be very time consuming.
The stimulation schedule will be be on a monthly basis. I will update everyone on team/player stats, areas of improvement + suggested trade targets.
Trades
Trades will operated according to the normal NBA rules. THERE ARE NO VETOES so if you make a poor trade you have to live with it.
To authorise a trade, all teams involved will need to confirm using the trade page. All trades outside of the trading page will be invalid. Every successful trade will gain you 3 points.
All trade cancellations will lead to a deduction of -5 points
Off-season:
Free Agency
During Free Agency, it will cost you points to speak to players to convince to sign with you. Here are the categories:
95+ = 10pts
90-95 = 7pts
85-90 = 5pts
80-85 = 3pts
75-80 = 2pts
75 and below = 1pt
Myself, Raptorsfan1 + Kyrie Irving will play act on the player's behalf. This is to filter bids + determine which bids meet the players current demands. After this, there will be voting poll to decide which team.
Training and Upgrades
This is a idea I've not seen yet. You will be able to use your points to upgrade a player's attribute. For example - you could use your points to upgrade Ben Simmons 3pt + make him a reliable shooter.
Upgrade categories
1 attribute increase = 2 pts 2 attribute increase = 3pts 3 attribute increase = 5 pts 4 attribute increase = 7pts 5 attribute increase = 10pts
You can only upgrade 3 players per season
All points will be resetted at the beginning of the next season.
Let me know your thoughts. If anyone has any idea put them forwards - any input will be appreciated.
