DeadPoole's Year In Sports 2025

Yes, I know 2026 is now 24 days old, but I've been working on this little thing that I hope other users will start copying. Basically, what I'm doing here is listing off every game I attended in order in 2025, and then giving each one a rating out of ten and a short description. I hope you enjoy this!

January 4th: Virginia vs Louisville (MBB) 3/10

Pretty boring game NGL. Not a good way to kick off the new year. Blow out loss at home.

January 21st: Virginia vs Boston College (MBB) 6/10

Wasn't a very competitive game. Good win for us though.

January 25th: Virginia vs Notre Dame (MBB) 4/10

This was embarrassing. 15 point loss to a team that wasn't particularly good. If you couldn't tell already UVA basketball wasn't pretty last year.

February 8th: Virginia vs Georgia Tech (MBB) 8/10

Good win for the Cavaliers. Gave it an 8 because it was Tony Bennett celebration night.

February 17th: Virginia vs Duke (MBB) 7/10

Bad loss but I didn't expect much different. I enjoyed watching Cooper Flagg and co though.

March 1st: Virginia vs Clemson (MBB) 5/10

Alright game, another double digit loss. Got kinda bored during the end of the season.

March 4th: Virginia vs Florida State (MBB) 8/10

This was a late night game, so made it enjoyable. Was also nice seeing Leonard Hamilton in one of his final games.

March 14th: George Mason vs George Washington (MBB) (A10 Quarterfinals) 7/10

Fun game to attend in DC. Nice to see a postseason game at Capital One Arena.

March 27th: Washington Wizards vs Indiana Pacers 2/10

OMFG this game sucked man. The Pacers fucked us, and the people behind us were annoying as fuck.

March 28th: Washington Spirit vs Bay FC 6/10

With the 2 games I attended in this 3 day span, it was only right to let my sister see a team she wanted to see play as well. I'll be honest I didn't watch that much of it.

March 29th DC United vs Columbus Crew 7/10

This game was pretty fun. My first DC United game in a while. Went up early but eventually lost.

June 28th: DC United vs Nashville SC 7/10

Was another fun game. Another DCU loss but was fairly competitive.

August 3rd: Washington Nationals vs Milwaukee Brewers 5/10

Fun to go to a baseball game for the first time in a while. The Brewers wiped the floor with us though.

August 21st: Virginia vs San Diego State (Men's Soccer) 7/10

Good opener to the season. The game was funny because SDSU's coach got so pissed.

August 24th Virginia vs Stetson (Men's Soccer) 6/10

Could've been a little better.

September 1st: Virginia vs American (Men's Soccer) 7/10

Close game. Pretty fun.

September 13th: Virginia vs William & Mary (Football) 6/10

Fun game in which multiple new records were set by UVA. Could've been higher except the heat made it almost unbearable.

September 19th: Virginia vs Wake Forest (Men's Soccer) 8/10

Exciting game against the then #1 team in the country. Very high scoring, 6-3.

September 26th Virginia vs Florida State (Football) 30/10

I am not exaggerating with that rating at all. This is the single greatest sporting game I have EVER attended. The atmosphere around me that cool Friday night in Charlottesville was second to none. It was electric the entire time, and maybe the most nervous I've ever been during a game as well. To cap it off, we had what some people say was the greatest field rush of all time, one that I was a part of. This is, and may always be, the greatest game I've ever attended.

September 27th: Virginia vs North Carolina (Men's Soccer) 5/10

Kind of boring, rating would be worse but I had friends there the entire time.

October 1st: Virginia vs Milwaukee (Men's Soccer) 7/10

Good game. IDk much else to say.

October 10th: Virginia vs Notre Dame (Men's Soccer) 6/10

Kind of disappointing result.

October 11th: James Madison vs Louisiana (Football) 8/10

After years of saying we should go to a game, me and my dad finally made the trip down to Harrisonburg. This game exceeded all expectations I had, would love to go to another JMU game sometime.

October 19th Virginia vs Denver (Men's Soccer) 6/10

Pretty good game.

October 25th Virginia vs Clemson (Men's Soccer) 7/10

Exciting 4-0 win. The game never seemed in doubt.

November 3rd: Virginia vs Rider (MBB) 6/10

Was hyped for the new season as it seemed to be a changing of the guard in Charlottesville. Not much to say because it was a blowout.

November 7th: Virginia vs NC Central (MBB) 5/10

Pretty much the same as the Rider game, gave it one point worse because it wasn't the first game.

November 9th Virginia vs North Carolina (Men's Soccer) (ACC Quarterfinals) 7/10

Nerve-wracking game. Squeezed out the victory.

November 11th: Virginia vs Hampton (MBB) 5/10

Same Thing as the last game.

November 15th: Washington Spirit vs Portland Thorns (NWSL Semifinals) 7/10

I'll admit I enjoyed this game. This game being during the playoffs made the atmosphere around me that much better.

November 23rd: Virginia vs UNC Greensboro (Men's Soccer) (NCAA Second Round) 2/10

Heartbreaking loss. Lost on PKs because one of our guys skied the last pen. Disappointing as well considering we were the 2 seed.

November 28th: Virginia vs Queens (MBB) 5/10

More of the same, did start to look like a promising team though.

November 29th: Virginia vs Virginia Tech (Football) 10/10

The only game other than the FSU game that I'm giving a 10/10 or higher. It was electric the entire time, and it was very nice to reclaim the Commonwealth Cup.

December 9th: Virginia vs MD Eastern Shore (MBB) 5/10

Unsurprisingly, the early home games were buy games, so the ranking's here don't shift much.

December 20th: Virginia vs Maryland (MBB) 8/10

Exciting game, good win. Maryland came back, but we were able to hold them off down the stretch.

December 21st: Washington Wizards vs San Antonio Spurs 8/10

The game was really enjoyable. We played pretty well (besides the 3rd Q) and I got to see Wemby.

December 26th: Washington Wizards vs Toronto Raptors 9/10

I thought I was going to cry man. The first Wizards win I had seen live since at least 2024. I was so happy with the win.

And with that, that is all 37 games I attended in 2025. It was a pretty nice year for sports, and hoping for an even better one in 2026!
