Hello, I’m writing this on August 12th, you are seeing this on August 22nd thank you for supporting the Chees fanspo account. I dreamt of this moment, I came up with this diabolical plan to get people hype just to break your hearts. But anyway, me and Totems created the 22ndAugust and August22nd accounts. I am August22nd, me and Totems have been seriously thinking about leaving this website, Please read Totems post for all the info on his plan its probably a lot different to mine, for a while now and I think its officially time to call it quits to my time here, but it’s not all over. I know you guys have very little attention span but please… stay with me here.
We could be here forever because I have so many people to thank, I might forget some people so many have helped me in the past 8 months so yeah here it goes:

There’s so many more people I’ve met who I could’ve mentioned, I’m sorry if I missed y’all but just know I appreciate every single one of you.
So I wanted to explain some of the clues….
4 days left I believe my clue was We are almost done… thats the name of my Big Board and technically my first post. Totems was twitter, that was because he had the Fanspo Twitter post that day was one of his.
3 days left I believe the clue was Europe, we are both European with that one.
2 days left was the title of our final posts so as you see the Title of this post was my comment that day.
And yesterday it was actually just an anagram of our name+Leaving
Im sorry if anyone is disappointed this isn’t something more fun or whatever I just wanted to do something interesting and I think I did a really good job at it, I guess you guys tell me. August 22nd wasn’t anything metaphorical we kept it pretty mysterious with it and got people guessing. Don’t think anyone thought it was gonna be me while I’m writing this a couple days before the reveal.

Since joining Fanspo I have learnt so much, I was never interested in posting articles, essays and making content and I think by the end of my time on Fanspo I was making some of the most thoughtful, interesting and informative essays I have ever posted on the site and we have got in especially recent time and thats not something I want to stop its something I enjoyed so much to do.
I guess my last Fanspo post was the response to some recent controversies on the site and I do want to say that I do disagree with the direction of the website. It feels like im a little narcissistic for leaving and saying this but this website generally doesn’t have a consistent audience here, people leave after a reasonable amount of time but you generally cant keep an audience, a lot of the people on the website tend to be younger people than me and maybe less experienced in looking at hoops and maybe aren’t as serious so we end up with a lot of non basketball posts and thats been an increasing occurrence that I can no longer align myself with.
So that brings me to my final point on why I’m going to be leaving the site…
I think I’ve served my purpose here, I’ve lowkey overstayed my welcome and I need a new journey. I have my final most important year of school I need to focus on, simply don’t have the time to be a regular poster which you have to be on fanspo. You gotta be there day in day out and post certain types of posts I have lost the interest in taking part of.
I also think I’ve genuinely maybe outgrown the website, I joined here relatively weaker in general NBA knowledge and as a person mentally and I think I’m coming out of this period in my life a lot more mature as a person and a lot better of an analyst. We had the Trade grade series, the various Hawks essays, the draft profiles and the list goes on and I’m proud of what I produced but when I look about where I wanna be and where I can be Fanspo cant let me do that and I think its time for me to transition, take my work more seriously and increase my quality.
So now I’m going to introduce my new project as a creator which is my Substack:

I think this is the best place for me to grow and create a maybe more consistent audience and learn how to be the creator I can be truly.
Schedule wise I plan to kick off my account on the week before the season or around that time, simply doing a post a week of a topic in that week that seems interesting that many people will want to talk about and do that fun an informative and technical way to break all of it down. All the content is gonna be free and I will post the link to each one on my Fanspo account.
So I’m not gone, but now you just have to find me on substack for more interesting consistent work.
There’s gonna be a subscription option, no one needs to pay for it right now for exclusive content, maybe that becomes an option after next year but all my content will be free!
