Wing defensive player of the year. I think that this should be treated kind of like a cy young is used for baseball because a wing player can win defensive POTY but it is very uncommon and I think it could be nice

Redefine the most improved, cause at this point it's just the dude that has all star potential making an all star team, make it someone who was genuinely bad who improved to become a good role player or a star.

Comeback Player of the Year. I also kinda like J-Dub’s idea of adding a non-big DPOY.

Comeback player of the year. Like an official dunk of the year and play of the year would be cool as well

Owner of the year. It would be interesting

Maybe assistant coach of the year. Maybe also most improved coach

Best two way player of the year

Offensive player of the year.

International Player of the Year, for highlighting any player that is outside of the NBA, one guy with spectacular season at any possible league at any continent

Match of the Year

Performance of the Year (one game performance of any player)

And segmentation of the MIP in 3 parts:

Most Improved Player : Per definition, most improved player in skill level and overall, could even be Wemby for example.

Emerging Player of the Year : Even for non-basketball reasons or basketball reasons, the player might have immense popularity across fans and might have had career defining moments for his image.

Surprising/Disappointing Player of the Year: Latter feels more like a drag, but it's basically for players who exceed or fail expectations set for them for the year.

Play of the year

Not sure how I just saw this. Great post idea.

Here's what my awards would be and who I'd pick for this season:

Comeback Player of the Year: Coming back from injury or Free Agency, just like NFL. Winner would be Lonzo Ball.

Offensive Player of the Year: Winner would be Jokic.

Play of the Year: Might be LeBron's dunk against the Mavs icl.

Game of the Year: Knicks-Lakers

Could be a bit crazy,

Jersey of the Year. I don't know how it would be done, but I like it. Of course also Comeback Player of the year.

Also performance of the year maybe. Just the best game from any Player

Player With Most Potential of the Year. It's basically the player that has shown more flashes of being an MVP. This award is just given to players from their rookie season to 4th season in the league.
