This will be a 3 part story, but still part of the original Totem Story just to keep it simpler and not confusing going back to older stories.
The only reason Im splitting this up is because y'alls attention span is bad I presume. And youse would just read a bit, and then just comment cool. When there's noting cool about this
This was my 1st season with a school team in any sport. I was playing on fire for my school, back then I wasn't as prolific on the assisting, still averging 6assists and 15 points across the season. Giving the fact that you can only play 20 minutes a game, I should've won MVP. But I didn't of course, because it's just whoever can score the most points. The winner averaged 16 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist. At least I was the best PG, In my biased opinion.
Because in the league there is 16 teams split into 4 divisions. Every team plays teams in their division 3 times, and everyone else twice. We were the 1st seed, 23-10 record. The playoffs were easy. 1st round is a best of 3, we won 2-0. Technically a sweep, still keeping up my form. The Semi-Finals was best of 3, won 2-1. So still keeping up and reaching the Finals. Our school had made 3 Finals before, losing every single time, and it's for some reason best of 5.
Game 1 was a tight game all-along. At home we managed to pull out a win, taking a 1-0 lead in the Finals.
Game 2 was my best game of all time, and I don't think I'll ever beat it. 25 points with 11 assists and 0 TO, not missing a single shot in the process, including a half-court shot. We won again, going 2-0 up on the road. One more win to get our 1st ever basketball championship in school history in any grade.
Game 3 was back at home, looking for a sweep, didn't go well. I got injured half way through, and I didn't return, we ended up losing. The wait went on when it could've been closed. I was annoyed with myself for going off injured when I could've just gave anything to help us win.
Game 4 though was when everything went wrong. I was performing well the whole game, hoping to lead us to the win. With 5 seconds left, we were up by 2, and it was our inbound. They had to foul, and they fouled me. This was it, score these and win the title. The 1st one went in. The crowd got more and more hostile. I was sweating, overthinking everything you don't want. The Free throw went up.
Bounced off the rim and went out.
Heartbreak for me, but we were still up by 3 with around 4 seconds left. They called a Timeout. This is it, final possession, needing a 3 to send it to OT. I defended for my life. Then my opponent crossed me. Ankle Broken. Wide open 3 to tie. There was nothing I could do but pray that the shot wouldn't go in. Obviously it went in. We ended up losing that game and I had lost all my confidence.
Game 5 I had my worst game ever which led to us blowing a 2-0 lead and us losing in the Finals again.
I couldn't get away from bullying, everyone hated me for that one free throw miss. It had changed my life. As time went on, it got worse, the heartbreak still lived with me and I didn't if it would leave.
