Back then I wasn't into Basketball but when I turned on the news, I knew Kobe was an amazing player. I was out with my friends and I got home and I watched the news for a bit. If it happened today, It would've been much more emotional for me

I was relaxing at home and immediately assumed it was a prank because everyone was citing TMZ instead of a more reliable source. Continued to dig into it and it was unfortunately true. I wasn’t a basketball fan until after Kobe retired but I had been hoping he would return to LAL (there were actual rumors of that at the time) so I was a bit sad, not as sad as I would’ve been if I had been a fan during his career.

you know that I'm from the UK, I didn't watch basketball, never really watched Kobe. I was on holiday with my family, skiing. And saw the news on my phone, even as someone who wasn't familiar with his full impact on the game, you had felt his impact on the world. he was an icon and a role model. Rest in peace
