2022 NBA Mock Draft (spurs4ever’s made me wanna do one)

  1. Sacramento Kings (Up 6) select Paolo Banchero, PF, Duke

This is a no brainer, Paolo is clearly the best player in the draft. He has an nba ready body (around 6’9-6’10 and around 240 lbs) and is a great scorer from all 3 levels. The only worry for this dude for me is switchability on defense, don’t know if when he gets even more muscular he’ll be able to keep up on the perimeter. But, he gets surrounded with some great defenders (Mitchell, Hali, Barnes, Holmes) and can be great.

  1. Orlando Magic (Down 1) select Jaden Hardy, G, G League Ignite

I think Hardy is the clear 2nd best in this draft as well. He has special ball handling and shooting abilities for being so young. This dude possesses elite size for a combo guard (6’4 ish) and could even play the 3 I’m sure. This dude would be perfect as instant offense with Anthony and Suggs in the backcourt. I’d be insanely excited as a magic fan.

  1. New Orleans Pelicans (Up 1) select Chet Holmgren, C, Gonzaga

Holmgren isn’t my favorite prospect but he’s an elite fit here. The Pelicans got Valancuinas and he’s been great, but Holmgren’s floor spacing and shot blocking is too good to pass on. Zion is the perfect fit with him aswell since Zion is such a good rebounder for his size, and I don’t know if Holmgren is strong enough for the NBA yet. But Holmgren would be perfect here.

  1. Houston Rockets (Down 1) select Patrick Baldwin Jr, PF, Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The Rockets would love this dude. He shows rare shot making skills and scoring ability at so young. I think this dude would be perfect as the 2nd fiddle to Jalen Green. Him and Sengun could run wild after the Rockets trade Wood, and he’s a good fit with Jae’Sean Tate.

  1. Detroit Pistons (Down 3) select Jabari Smith Jr, PF, Auburn

I’m convinced this is exactly what they need. They need to trade Jerami Grant for a PG/SG and Let Smith and Bey be the forwards. Smith is a very fluid scorer and shooter. He showcases solid ball handling and switchablity on defense. I don’t see a case where this dude isn’t a solid player. He’s just so solid and has no weaknesses.

  1. Oklahoma City Thunder (Down 1) select Jalen Duren, C, Memphis

Bam. Thunder get their center. Duren is insane on the boards and a great defender. He can switch 1-5 and has a crazy wingspan. Do I really have to say anything else? This dude is Nerlens Noel on STEROIDS. He’s insane.

  1. San Antonio Spurs (Down 1) select A.J. Griffin, F, Duke

This just seems like a Spurs pick. The perfect forward next to Keldon Johnson. This dude is 6’6 220 and is a defensive mastermind. I see so much finishing and defensive potential in this dude. He’s also shown some shooting and playmaking flashes, but that’s not what I’m worried about. The Spurs will help develop this dude and he’ll be great, no doubt.

  1. Indiana Pacers select Kendall Brown, F, Baylor

Idk why but this dude reminds me of Scottie Barnes. He shows great defensive instincts and can playmake, even though the assist stats don’t show that. He’s gonna have shooting concerns but so did Scottie, and look at him. This guy would be a great TJ Warren replacement because the Pacers are penny pinchers.

  1. Toronto Raptors select Caleb Houstan, F, Michigan

This dude is a Raptors player. He can switch 1-5, shoot 3’s, and playmake a bit. In this super switchable Raptors team, he’s perfect.

  1. Portland Trail Blazers select Jean Montero, PG, Overtime League

LET THE CHAOS BEGIN! If the Blazers finish this bad then Lillard is a goner. Montero shows great slashing and playmaking abilities, and even some shooting flashes. He’s not great defensively but he has the potential to be a cornerstone for a rebuild after they trade Lillard.

  1. Denver Nuggets select Jaden Ivey, G, Purdue

Around what I think is the perfect spot for Ivey. Ivey shows good ball handling and defensive skills, and is a very athletic, crafty scorer around the basket. My main worry is that he’s an off ball player who can’t shoot well. But in Denver, surrounded by shooters and Jokic, I think he’ll be great.

  1. Atlanta Hawks select Benedict Mathurin, wing, Arizona

I love this fit. This dude is a more polished version of Kevin Heurter and Can Reddish mixed together. I love this dude and he’s the perfect role player in Atlanta.

  1. Boston Celtics select TyTy Washington, G, Kentucky

I like this dude as the cheap Dennis Schroeder replacement. He can score from all there levels and pulls off some very impressive ball handling moves. He’s just so crafty that I can’t leave him out of the lottery.

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers select Nikola Jovic, F, Mega Bemax

I like Jovic as the combo forwards that the Cavs have been using Dean Wade as. Jovic shows great flashes of playmaking, shooting, and some defensive flashes as well. I think between Isaac Okoro and Evan Mobley he’d be really good, because the Cavs obviously wanna play big and he helps that.

Please share this! Took me an hour to just type it out!
