The United States of America has disappeared. No one knows how, but there is a gaping hole in between Canada and Mexico, and all the people of the nation are nowhere to be found. The NBA has now lost a huge chunk of their player base along with all stadiums and teams (the Canadian clubs dissolved without a roster or league).
Luckily, Adam Silver survived. He was fortunate enough to be on a flight while the disaster struck, and now he’s left to build back a bare-bones league…
WORLD DOMINATION MOCK
There are around 150 international NBA players who were unaffected by the USA’s disappearance. They need to find new teams, and fast, to provide for their families. That’s where you come in.
Eight passionate basketball owners and GM’s sign up for Adam Silver’s NBA restoration, the International Basketball Association, or IBA. The IBA begins with a fantasy draft of 10 rounds, a snake draft where the order is lottery-determined. Once that is done, there will be an initial trading period followed by free agency. Free agency will include all international rookies originally taken in the 2025 NBA Draft, all international two-way players, and more (a surprise twist you’ll know about when the time comes 👀). It will use a bidding system with coins, and you will have to pitch to players why they should choose you over another team.
Instead of a simulation, the 8 teams will be placed in a single-elimination bracket of polls, and the Fanspo community will decide who made the strongest roster.
If successful, the IBA will reach a Season 2 with expansion teams, a crazy rookie draft, and more free agency twists. Until then, sign up for Season 1 below, and choose the location and branding of your team anywhere in the world (other than the U.S., obviously)!
