I never thought I’d see the day where a mock choice system works. I was vehemently against the idea when it first came up a few years ago, because the structure of it strongly favored big creators, but I give my props to this new group of users who have put in initial rules that favor lower creator’s ideas and help support mocks that may lose out the first time around in voting.
However, there are still things that can change to make a system better. I have two proposals that make the Fanspo Mock Committee more community-oriented.
Proposal 1: Community Votes In Committee Members
Simply put, decisions affecting the entire website should not be made by people who commented first on a post that created the idea. I know better than most that people on this site can get power hungry and cause arguments. It’s silly because how much can you really gain on a basketball trade machine website, but this website is mostly kids. We eliminate that possibility, and make people feel better/trust those making the big decisions, by holding elections for the Committee Members voted on by the Fanspo community. This could happen monthly or bi-monthly. Once members are voted in, they would choose a commissioner to publicly represent them most often.
Proposal 2: Usernames/Names of Mock Creators are Not Shown on Mock-Choice Polls
This one’s self-explanatory. Only having the mock concepts on the polls makes people choose the best idea and takes away all potential large-creators bias.
Let me know if y’all like these ideas and give me any feedback in the comments! Also, vote below on which proposals you like.
