Starting to do revisionist trade grades on trades I wasn't posting while they happened or just missed
anyway the first trade is this Thomas Bryant Trade
PACERS: B
bumped up quite a bit form my initial reaction, he's been incredible for them, now I could argue a slightly lower grade, but im going to be honest, he's been that great as a back up, he's shooting 55% from the field, 40% from 3 on 1 a game. he's only giving them 15 minutes a game, but in a struggling center rotation he has been extremely impactful. lest remember where the pacers were, late play in and poor rebounding, now is he a great rebounder? not really but they've done one trade, and they bumped up 4 places and its not like there's 0 competition for that seeding. So obviously the stats look good, the eye test is great, the impact is evident. so let me add a bit more. His OBPM is 3 and his DBPM is just above 0, he's averaging .18 win shares per 48 minutes, by far the highest he's ever averaged. 65% TS and this just tells you that he has been one of the bet offensive backup centers in the league and has been vital to restoring this elite pacers offence we knew them for. His defence is par, we knew it wasn't his strength but he's held it down on a team with defensive questions but lets say he gets on the court with Siakam, i'm not going to be worried.
one quick simple point, this is the best grade I can give to a trade of this stature, well done.
HEAT: C-
You got a second round pick swap in 2031, now I don't blame you he wasn't great playing in your system, wasn't really important to the rotation and you just took the value you could get. But he's been great and again this is Revisionist so, you got low value for a high level roleplaying center with real impact. So sub average grade of C-
