How fast are modern technologies spreading in digital payments and business?

I actually think about how now we’re constantly hearing about digitalization and automation of everything. There are more and more payment solution providers popping up and all that. But at the same time, it’s like we forget that a big part of the world still runs on cash, and in some places they even refuse to accept e-payments because of fees, and it ends up being more expensive. How does all this even exist in the same world?
