Thursday, January idk what day that was Wanted to start this over the weekend but I’ve got a break, so we’re rewinding to a normal school day. This is a real look at what a day in the life of a future college athlete actually looks like not flashy, not perfect, just consistent. Not posting this to flex, posting it to document the journey.
5:25 AM. First day back. Upper body and core still sore because I’ve been getting my own work in at home. No excuses though. Like always, start the day with my devotional and prayer — gotta get the mind right before anything else.
Breakfast was simple. Muffin, sausage, egg, and a Naked juice. Not an ad, I swear 😭 Costco got me right — strawberry banana, blueberry banana, mango, piña colada… actually elite.
Drive to school was icy, like 20 degrees. First day back energy. Spent the morning studying for end of semester tests. Subtle foreshadowing: I went 5/20 on my Spanish test. We bounce back.
Had weight training during the day. Back squats and bar toe raises. Nothing flashy, just work. Stayed hydrated all day, a couple water bottles and some snacks. Goldfish before lunch always hit. Lunch was light like usual — PB&J with fruit and veggies. Fuel over fullness.
School got a little crazy for a minute. Reminder that not everything around you is controllable, but your response is.
After school I stuck around for extra help in a few classes. Student first, athlete second. Then headed to the stadium. Honestly so blessed to have a facility like that. Chopped it up with some teammates, then locked in.
Warm up was two laps, dynamics, leg swings, gate openers, then some build-ups to get the speed ready. I pulled up a little late, which sucked because the girl I’m tryna get with was already there.
Workout was: 300 at 400 pace, 1 minute rest, 100 in 14, 4 sets, 5 minutes between sets.
Straightaway was literally covered in like two inches of ice. Ran through it anyway. Quick tip: if you go fast enough on ice, you don’t have time to slip.
Completely cooked after. Hamstrings fried. Later that night I fueled up, did static stretching, massage gun, foam rolling. Recovery isn’t optional.
Days like this don’t go viral, but they add up. Nobody sees the early mornings, the tired legs, the boring routines. That’s where the gap gets created.
Job’s not finished. Make sure to like and flame for more of this
