Starting 5 PG: Keyonte George SG: Darryn Peterson SF: Ace Bailey PF: Lauri Markkanen C: Jaren Jackson Jr.
Bench: Isaiah Collier, Josh Okogie, Cody Williams, Brice Sensabaugh, Kyle Filipowski, Jusuf Nurkic, Jaxson Hayes
The Jazz will most likely play a 5 out system with lots of screens to try to get shooters open. They will prioritize team playmaking since Keyonte George isn’t an elite playmaker at point guard. There will be some iso from George and Peterson but they will definitely not play an iso heavy offense. The Jazz will be a very fast-paced team that will score a lot from transition. However, when the second unit goes in there Isaiah Collier will facilitate the offense. Honestly, I think Isaiah Collier will get lots of meaningful minutes and have a breakout season. Brice Sensabaugh, Josh Okogie, Cody Williams, and Kyle Filipowski will be utilized as depth shooters off the bench. Jusuf Nurkic will serve as a great offensive starting caliber big man who can facilitate from the post off the bench. Jaxson Hayes will be utilized as energetic rim protector.
Darryn Peterson will start the game as the main on-ball defender with Keyonte George on the least threatening offensive player. Lauri Markkanen can guard the bigger forward and use his huge size to contest shots. Ace Bailey is quick enough and big enough to guard a forward or guard and contest shots and break up plays. Jaren Jackson Jr. may sometimes switch onto perimeter players but will serve as a roaming rim protector. Josh Okogie will normally take the hardest assignment off the bench as the only lockdown defender on the team. Cody Williams and Brice Sensabaugh both are serviceable defenders and can guard good players. Jusuf Nurkic, Kyle Filipowski, and Jaxson Hayes will be primarily thrown on big men.
Projected Wins: 41 The Jazz have finally built a good team. They most likely will not try to tank as they have some high quality veterans and a great young core. The probably won’t be able to compete with the Thunder and Spurs but they will be in the mix for the play-in with a playoff appearance possible. Although I don’t know how far they will get in the playoffs since they are relying on young, inconsistent shooters off the bench. However, if their young players take a step they could make a small run.
