Hey everyone, I think this is my, Schlenk, and KnicksTape’s first attempt to make a mock, and we want to make sure it runs properly and for a long time. The mocks have kind of died out on Fanspo, so we want to make sure that this mock moves fast and spans for a large amount of seasons. So deadlines will be a lot more strict and short to make sure that it actually moves forward.
Regular season and trading period:
There are 30 teams, and trading will last for 5 days when all teams are filled.
Half the season will be simmed, there will be another 2 day trading period for the deadline, then the second half of the season will be simmed.
Playoffs:
Nothing special here, first the play-in, then the 1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round, and finals!
Offseason period:
The offseason will start with the draft lottery and draft. There will be a small 1 day period for you to make trades before the draft, but you only get 1 day!
The draft will be done in 1 day. Every team only gets around an hour, but I will permit big boards to be sent to me before the draft so we can move as quickly as possible!
Then we move into free agency, which will last for 6 days, here are the rules:
It will be auction-based, each team has the same salary cap and we’ll let you know how much cap you have remaining
There will be 3 waves, with each wave lasting 2 days, and will go from best players to worst players. Any players remaining after free agency can be signed throughout the season.
The entire offseason will take around a week so we can move as quickly as possible!
Trade and Sim Rules:
Stepien rule in place
You can trade picks all the way till 2030
You cannot trade any untouchable players (list is below) unless some kind of situation change, like Luka can’t be traded unless the Mavs miss the playoffs like 2 years in a row and he demands out
Any trade can be vetoed by me, schlenk, or knickstape if we deem it to be too one-sided or unrealistic
You are allowed to buyout or release players after approval from one of the mods (me, schlenk, or knickstape)
You can add pick protections, but make sure to detail them and remind us if we make a mistake!
Weird rule, but Miles Bridges doesn’t exist in this world for obvious reasons
The season will be simmed by me, and I have a custom roster based upon the season so far, so keep everything realistic!
If you miss any deadlines or selections, we will move forward, so if you know you won’t be able to make a draft selection or something, let us know in advance!
