Literally came here cuz I saw yet another stupid tweet about it, so i wanna clear the air
The Brooklyn Nets and their beatwriters have been constantly feeding misinfo to inflate the stock of Mikal and whatever other assets they have. If you really do your diligence and investigate the validity of each rumor you’ll find a bunch of hot air, at least, in comparison to what has become the social media narrative
The Nets of course stand to benefit from pushing the narrative that the Houston Rockets (and other teams!) have several times thrown the kitchen sink at them for Mikal, which, surprise surprise, always leaves Brooklyn wanting more. Such a dumb rumor that literally has no validity beyond initial discussions on either side. There are more reports that neither side picked up the phone than there are the alternative. Just feels so dumb, and the discrepancy in public opinion is so skewed because of this. NBA media regularly tweets stuff like “Nice try, Houston” (exact quote) saying they offered 7 FRPs for Mikal??? The legal limit for picks in a trade??? And Jalen Green???? Get real, dude. Brooklyn handled Ben Simmons and Kevin Durant in similar ways.
All this from a Jake Fischer article that said Houston MIGHT be willing to do so and so. Such an annoying thing to deal with
