always take Combine performances not too seriously, they are meant to be slight additives yet interesting. Always so your due diligence to watch all these guys actually play basketball!
WINNERS
WINNER 1: Cedric Coward
Right after this you'll be getting my Coward report, first off there's the insane measurements, then there's the shooting performances and you just see all the good stuff promised from that guy who only played 6 games and when you see it like that in the combine, he flies up boards, there's an argument he's a top 20 guy in this class. Questions on whether he stays but all round huge win for the guy and I think this combine performance convinces him to stay in the draft.
WINNER 2: Maxime Raynaud
Someone i've already done my report on and I actually really liked him, i'm continuing to be more impressed by the mind and fluidity of the guy but he has been one of the best performers in the scrimmages so far, huge 20 point performance yesterday, the 3 point was falling the handle was great and he was super fluid. Loved this combine for him so far.
WINNER 3: Tre Johnson
This is a guy who's already projected in the top of this draft, can his stock jump much higher? probably not, I have him 5th in the class and probably he will end there for me but he showed us a lot to get excited over. Some people would have been fans of the athleticism of Tre Johnson but we really got to see it displayed in full with some great numbers, the shooting was and has been just as good as expected and the measurements are great. And he was one of the more impressive guys out there on the first couple of days, interested to hear some more interviews but a really cool vibes guy.
WINNER 4: Yaxel Lendeborg
I've been very high on Lendeborg, I think he's gonna be great big in the NBA and is gonna end up just in my top 20, but the combine has been super impressive, good scrimmages as one oft he standout names who entered them, the measurements were what I expected but more than what some people expected, overall still impressive though. The shooting looked consistent which is always gonna be something i'm interested in to see how he performs. Overall he's in a similar Coward situation with the committing and stuff so it's gonna be interesting to see if he stays like I think he should. But yeah more reason for me to like him!
HMs:
Rasheer Fleming: Amazing Measurements and Athleticism, definitely a winner from the early days, would've made the list with better shooting drills.
Jamir Watkins: Good shooting and Scrimmage performances.
Tahaad Pettiford: Put up Great numbers all combine, especially in the scrimmages but the measurements were never gonna go his way.
Yanic Konan Niederhauser: Athleticism and size numbers were great and his G League combine was impressive stuff, definitely more people higher on him
Hansen Yang: Won a lot from people just being able to watch him more. But yeah great measurements and good numbers all round and good scrimmages, don't think he one of the top 4 though.
