I decided to come out of hibernation and check in on this website after the impossible / Hilarious feat of Bam Adebayo dropping 83 points... Breaking Kobe's record and becoming the highest scoring game in the modern era.
Hard not to, but i've been so disappointed in the response i've seen on a website which is meant to be a place for true basketball fans... So many unthought out and cheap takes of people parroting shitty "Stephan A" style quips.
No shit Bam Adebayo didn't do it with the shooting splits of Luka or Kobe, you are a moron if you even find that to be an apt comparison. He is not a highly effective offensive weapon... He is Bam, A athletic and dogged big. With just enough offensive firepower to make this possible.
That should make this even more impressive, not to tarnish it. He is not a guard who's going to make 12 threes and 30 midrange shots, he's going to put his head down and get to the rim relentlessly like he did all game.
The same way Robinson and Wilt did... And if you know anything about those games, including Kobes... They weren't void of gimmicks to try and push their player to achieve something WHICH IS LITERALLY A GIMMICK ITSELF...
A 70 point game isn't going to happen in any high level or serious basketball capacity. They all were in games against shit teams... The same teams that your favourite player btw plays against and chooses to play at 30% at chuck shots up.
Bam is the Captain who had a skeleton crew, on a Miami team pushing to contention where every single win matters... As we have dropped games to bad teams in very recent history. He publicly said he is sick of the play in and will do whatever he can.
Before any gimmicks... Bam had a 31 point 1st quarter, historical in itself... Then 43 at the half... More history no gimmicks there... Then the fastest 50 point game of ALL TIME.
UNTIL he had 70... OH ONLY 70 and decided hey, I have more in the tank... these guys literally can't guard me without hacking the shit out of me I'm going to go for more history.

Mind you he had 70 on on 19/37 shooting splits, before the Wizards started doing everything in their power to stop him... So as a team Miami did everything in theirs to back their captain... As you know? ANY FUCKING PLAYER WOULD WANT FROM THEIR TEAM? OR YOU WOULD WANT FOR YOUR FAVOURITE PLAYER?

Don't take the issue up with Bam, or Miami for SUCCEEDING IN DOING SOMETHING NOBODY HAS EVER BEEN SEEN ON CAMERA.
The shame is on a shitty Wizards product. That has put a team together to try and lose. That Bam fucking destroyed and got 83 on.
