SURPRISING:
MEMPHIS- i was shocked on how much noise they made in the first round with trades by landing 5 future seconds and still taking a player they most likely would've taken at 16 (Karim Lopez)
OKC- im surprised that they didn't have to trade up to get Aday Mara at all and they moved up for Stirtz which makes sense but thought they'd target someone like Lopez instead.
HENRI VEESAAR- thought he'd go in the late 1st round or early second round because of the skill he has. i never was very high on him but nba mock drafts suggested teams were. no one saw him falling into the early 50s!
DAILYN SWAIN- congrats to him and more if he hits with the Bulls but i don't think anyone had him going to Chicago of all places. yes he's a great player but i didn't think the Bulls would take a swing on someone like him.
H-TOWN- did not see that savvy second round trade for the 31st pick coming. nor did anyone see Bruce Thornton coming off the board that early. im really curious to see how he turns out in Houston
(BONUS) ZUBY- i was really surprised the Hawks took him at 23. didn't think he'd go that high and to Atlanta of all places
UNSURPRISING:
TOP 4 PICKS- wasn't surprised how the top four shook out. also wasn't surprised AJ went #1 overall.
RICHIE SAUNDERS- i think most people had him going a little later but him going to the grizzlies makes complete sense. MEM has a history of taking older, higher IQ players like Edey and Coward. he'll be a great addition for Memphis
KOA PEAT- this dude really should've gone back to college. got drafted 30th overall and everyone saw it coming. he could've made so much more by going back to college just one more year.
OKC- not surprised they, among other teams, traded down in the second round. i honestly thought they'd trade out
ISAIAH EVANS- i had him going higher in my mock drafts just because it seemed that he fit in with where i had him going but not surprised he fell into the second round.
INTERESTING:
SPURS- i didn't want Jayden Quaintance to go to the spurs because him and wemby are going to be a force of nature. just found it interesting they took a bet on him because of his injuries and then traded up for Tarris Reed Jr as insurance if JQ doesn't play out. but we're in for an insane roller coaster: OKC v SAS. two loaded front courts. Mara + Chet vs Wemby + JQ
TRADES- some good movement in the first and second round involving teams moving up and down. the ones that struck me the most were the grizzlies and suns in the first, and Rockets in the second.
NEW YORK KNICKS- it's uncertain if Robinson will return so id assume they'd take more than one big. but they didn't. instead they took three guards and only one center (which happened to be a steal because he was supposed to go way earlier)
BRADEN SMITH- I get he's a good passer. a great one. if not one of the best. but like why? there's no way he survives in the NBA he's just too small. but IND was pretty high on him so we'll see how he turns out
DALLAS- i was pretty intrigued that they passed on Brayden Burries. i get you just got Dusty May so you want to get a Michigan player and Morez is a very promising player. but the frontcourt is just too loaded. hopefully he turns out great for them though.
