s/general - Welcome To The Simplicity Mock Revamped!

Some of you might recognize this name. The OG Simplicity mock was one ran by myself and some other creators. The idea was to create a mock that was fast, realistic, and simple. This mock will follow the same blueprint, but will have some improvements made based off of what I learned from the original mock over 2 years ago. The goal is to finish this mock in 6 days or less!

This will be an off-season mock. I will sim the rest of the regular season as well as the postseason once every spot for the mock has been filled. The results for this will of course be posted. After this is where the fun will really start!

The Draft

The draft is normally what kills mocks as it takes so long and people lose interest. To combat this we will be using the same system from the OG simplicity mock. I firmly believe this is the best way to run the draft for a mock.

The draft order will be released at the same time as the 2024-2025 season results. This is at the very beginning of the mock. You will have 24 hours from then to comment a big board on the post. After the 24 hours is up, I will sit down and do all of the draft in one sitting. This means that you will NOT be able to make any pick yourself or draft day trades.

When I am done, I will make a post with the results. This is how you will know which rookies you have gotten. I will for sure post the 1st round, but I’m not making any promises about the 2nd round.

Your big board does not necessarily have to be exact players who you want to draft. If you comment a specific position, archetype, or skill you’re looking for I will do by best to get you the best fit for what you’re looking for.

If you do NOT create a big board you will receive an auto pick. The computer (not me) will be making this pick for you, so there is no guarantee it will be a good pick.

The draft class will of course be real 2025 prospects. This is someone else’s draft class that I’ve been making tweaks to throughout the year. The players ratings are a mix of the original creators ratings, my on ratings, and how a player has performed statistically.

Team/Player Options

For the sake of simplicity, I’m going to assume that all team options are being accepted. If there is a player whose option you would like to decline, make sure and reach out to me about it before the conclusion of the post draft trade period.

After the post draft trading has ended, I will post a list of all of the players who have accepted or declined their options.

Free Agency

As I mentioned above there will be two days of FA. Each day will have two phases. They are tentatively set for 8 AM - 2 PM and 3 PM - 9 PM (all times are central).

Players will weigh their offers and decide whether to sign or wait it out after each period.

Players will be taking more than money into account when looking to sign with a team! When you comment an offer for a FA, be sure to give a short blurb about why they should join your team.

There will be NO trades during FA! This will help me be able to run the mock as efficiently as possible. The only exception to this is the extremely rare situation that we have a s&t.

There will NOT be a list of available players. This is information that is readily available on the internet. The FA’s will be anyone whose contract has expired along with those players who declined their PO’s.

The sim will be ran on 2k, but with a custom roster. This should prevent anyone from using overalls of players in trade negotiations. Act as a real GM!

The sim can be very time consuming, so please be patient with me as I try to compete it!

Being one of the first people to sign up does not guarantee you a spot! I’m not super familiar with many of the newer creators so I will be consulting a group of active creators who I trust to tell me if someone should or shouldn’t be allowed to participate in the mock.

This is nothing personal. I just don’t need unnecessary drama going on in the mock. They are hard enough to run as is.
