I've been a Hornets fan for 5 years now. I became a Hornets fan after I got into basketball in about 2020. I would play basketball but my other passion was watching reality house shows for some reason idk why. Anyways, one day one of the shows I watched which took place in North Carolina was on and I decided as a joke to say that the Hornets were my favorite team because they were from there (until then I was a Lakers fan). I kept telling myself that and eventually it became true. By 2021, I was a moderate hornets fan and by 2022 I was a diehard Hornets fan. Every game means something to me and so does every player.
As a Hornets fan, it is rough. Never being able to see my Hornets in the playoffs as a true fan and always seeing the same exact thing every year. (Okay start, falling off, players get hurt, falling off , draft lottery okay result, mid pick). This would repeat whether it was LaMelo getting hurt, Bouknight being a bust, Miller struggling with injuries, Salaun being a bust, Knueppel disappearing when it mattered most. It hurts. I've seen so many bright moments. This last season was incredible. Although they fell short in a bad way, that Miami game was the best game I have ever seen as a fan. I know that the Hornets are able to become a playoff team and I believe that they would next year but then

LaMelo Ball trade rumors. This is absolutely terrifying as an NBA fan. Most fans don't feel this with their star players. COMPLETELY OUT OF THE BLUE. Giannis we knew about. Luka was crazy, I'll give ya that. AD we were surprised, Trae Young too. KD was not a shocker. And for fans who have not experienced this, imagine Shai, Curry, Jokic, Tatum, Ant or Brunson getting traded. It is crazy. I am extremely nervous, not just because he might get traded but because the teams he might get traded to have noone I want. There are only a couple players I would trade LaMelo for 110%. Those are Giannis, Shai, Ant and Jokic. EVERY other player I would have to think about for a little bit. Whether it is Luka's cry babying, Brunson's height, Tatum's injuries, Embiid's injuries or really anything else. Even though all of those guys are better than LaMelo. THIS TEAM WAS MADE FOR HIM. WE CAME TOGETHER AND DRAFTED PLAYERS AROUND HIM AND TO TRADE HIM WILL JUST BE ANOTHER STUPID DECISION JUST LIKE TRADING KOBE AND SHAI. Jeff Peterson, I know LaMelo wants to stay, so please, I beg you, don't let him go because once you do, you will never hold someone like him again.
