Why do I feel like the NBA should get rid of the fact that you have to match contracts?

This would make it so much easier to get rid of guys such as Zion who is on a huge contract but isn’t the value of it. Imagine they could trade Zion for young guys on low contracts who are just as good.

This would also make it much easier for teams to clear cap space without needing to trade a lot of players and make it easier to start a rebuild by trading a large contract for a small contract.

It would also help teams that have a lot of good young guys trade for big players and improve their team if they have the cap space
