Resigning Draymond Green(1 year, ~$28 million)

I like Draymond still, but I do think this was a massive overpay. He isn’t very competent offensively anymore, and I don’t think I could name another franchise who’d give nearly $30 million to a defensive specialist.
Extending Kristaps Porziņgis(2 years, $40 million)

I like him when he’s healthy. The things is that isn’t very often. I predict he’ll play at most 50 games in either of the next two seasons. Not bad at face-value but when taking into account his injury-prone self it isn’t very good.
Resigning Al Horford(2 years, ~$14 million)

I don’t hate the resigning, I still think he’s a solid role player as of now. The downside is he’ll be 41 at contract’s end. He’s already regressing so I don’t even know how he’ll be 2 years from now.
Resigning De’Anthony Melton(2 years, $11 million with a PO on year 2)
C
I like Melton as a combo guard off the bench(probably our 6th man next year), he’s a good finisher. Residual injury concerns still exist from his torn ACL, we saw that in the second half of last season. His 3-point shooting also wasn’t great last year. It isn’t an overpay though which is pretty good.
“Signing” Charles Bassey(1 year, ~$3 million, only about half is guaranteed)

I like Bassey quite a bit, I think he’ll make a very good backup center and ideally he’d be a good starter while KP is in street clothes. I think this is a good, team-friendly contract as he showed great promise last season.
The NBA Draft(Yaxel Lendeborg at 11 and Lajae Jones at 54)

I don’t hate either pick particularly, but I don’t think they’re the best the Warriors could’ve made, particularly in round 1. The Yaxel pick is very interesting to me; personally I was much lower on Yaxel than most people were, but besides that I don’t think it was really the right pick. I understand he was selected for his higher floor, but that’s because the front office was hell-bent on contending and thought they could acquire a superstar. I believe they should’ve targeted a higher-upside prospect(not Nate Ament). The Jones pick is much better to me, he’s younger, he’s athletic, he has two-way potential, and potential to develop a 3-pointer.
Overall Warriors Offseason Grade: C-/C
The Warriors offseason wasn’t good, it wasn’t great, it was exceptionally decent. They didn’t add anyone new outside of their very decent draft, I didn’t hate any of their resigning choices other than a few of the contracts.
Best Move: “Signing” Charles Bassey
Worst Move: Resigning Draymond Green
